I don't know about you, but, I often wander through the dollar store finding bits and pieces that I end up putting together very differently than what someone might think. For example they often have gauzy scarfs that are cute, but, not my style.
Finished item - steps are below
First I gathered some of my dollar store treasures - a foam wreath (if yours doesn't have them, they are also super cheap at Walmart), some silky flowers I had cut from bunches that I was using for other projects, the butterfly scarf, and a pipe cleaner I "borrowed" from my granddaughter's craft bag (because we do crafts on Fridays!)
I left a tail loose as I began to wrap the scarf around the form, because I had an idea for the hanger I was going to make. If your scarf slides to much and starts to bunch up, a couple of straight pins will anchor things for you.
I kept working the scarf around the form until I was satisfied with how the fabric looked.
Then I took the tail I'd left loose, looped it through the other folds, wrapped the pipe cleaner around it, until it stood up like a little tail. Then I looped it back around itself, poked the flowers into the front, and hung it by the tail I made. I wish I had better pictures, but, it's hard to photograph yourself while you're doing the craft!
Anyway, once I had all the pieces the way I wanted them, I hung it on my back door. Easy peasy and under $5!
