Burlap Heart Door Hangers

3 Days
One of my closest friends had me do artwork on her door hangers a few years ago and I was hooked on making my own. I currently sell these and other various designs. www.etsy.com/shop/CLASSICHOUNDSTOOTH
First I use a hand-drawn paper template for the design. Then trace the design & cut the burlap.
After two panels are cut, the fabric is processed and cured for 2-3 days. Then the painting process begins. After painting is completed, fabric is treated in clear poly and cured over night.
For a more durable & long lasting door hanger, we attach a wire form to the interior.
Time to hand sew in wide stitch for added texture and dimension. Stuff as you sew around edges. I constantly work with the stuffing as I go to get the look just right. Then I glue around inside edges to secure stitching and burlap edges.
Hand painted wood star for bow. Clear coated & cured.
Some wired coordinating ribbon, raffia, and sisal rope finishes this project. To order this burlap heart door hanger, this is the link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/234006287/handmade-large-independence-day-heart?ref=shop_home_active_15
