Christmas Village

This project started out with a few unfinished wood houses I picked up at Michael’s for around $5 each.

I painted the houses white, I used spray paint because I had it on hand but white chalk-type or acrylic paint would work just fine too!

I let the white paint dry completely before moving ahead.

The next step was to paint the roof using Folk Art Antique Copper metallic paint…I am crushing on this color for this Christmas!

Don’t forget to get the underside of the roof.

While the paint was still wet I sprinkled an extra-fine copper glitter over the entire roofline, not forgetting about the edges of the Christmas house.

Note: It is very important to let the white paint be completely dry before moving on the copper paint and glitter…if it’s damp in any spots the copper glitter will stick to it.

Finished Christmas Village Houses

I love how my little $5 unfinished wood houses came out! I set up a glittery Christmas village on my entryway table along with a couple of DIY Gold Christmas Trees and a Plaster of Paris tree that I also made.

What a beautiful unique idea. I love this. I have many small ornaments that will work well with the village. Thanks for posting
