This is a toilet paper roll art I did with 33 toilet paper rolls and 3 paper towel rolls 1 can oil rubbed bronze spray paint tacky glue a 12 inch embroidery hoop 10 inch wood letter and 12 inch mirror (pics are from Pinterest finished product was mine Pinterest said 10 inch mirror I did it bigger)
Cut 1/2 inch marks through all the rolls
I used tacky glue instead of hot glue
I glued mine to my embroidery hoop the part with out the screw not to the mirror
I didn't use this design but did mine in a straight line
This was a mock up of how I wanted it to look next I spray painted it with oil rubbed bronze several light coats and then glued my mirror to the hoop and the letter to the mirror

Very nice! But how's it holding so far? I tried something similar, used hot glue and some staples and it kept coming apart under its own weight.

That is so great! Love your project! I'm going to start saving my rolls.

I think it would look good as a clock also. Could it be done?

Since this is cardboard, how do you fireproof it?

Okay, I admit to having a somewhat twisted sense of humour; however, every time I see hints published for repurposing toilet-tissue rolls, the ol' nurse in me thinks about what was happening when those rolls were used in the bathroom and I get a little creeped out about where they've been and what they may be harbouring in their new life. But I'll also admit that this is a really cool looking accent piece.

You could always use paper towel rolls but unless you are using a bunch of paper towels a day it would take you longer to collect enough for something like this project. There are lots of projects on here using the toilet rolls, one I like a lot using them to blue a photo on, they stack the rolls, I believe cut them in half first, then stacked so they are not straight hard to explain it, then, probably glued, painted and then cut the picture to the same bubbling shape and glue it on. It is super cute.

I agree with Noni...The thought of tp rolls is kinda gross...I don't use that many paper towels but the length of the ones I do use are 2 1/2 times the length of tp rolls..Should not take many to serve the same purpose or project...In fact I have 8 now I have saved and was browsing today trying to find a project and so glad I ran into this one.... P.S.. FYI to all...I sometimes use paper towel rolls on end of vacuum hose for one time use to get into tight spaces etc..just crunch the end ...And the really hard ones from foil etc are good also for vacuuming May have to tape it on hose end, but has helped me out many times.
