DT Bath Mat Pillow
Here's a fun way you can use a bathmat- yes a bathmat!! in your Valentine's (or year round) decor. This bathmat ahd some fun textures and turned out to make a shabby chic/farmhouse style pillow. Check it out!
What you'll need:
- 2 bath mats
- hot glue gun
The first thing you need to do is draw and cut out a heart. It should be a good size to fit in the center of the mat.
Then, I took the twine and cut 3 pieces (about 25 to 30 inches each).
Then, tie a knot at the top of the 3 strings.
Next, I braided the twine. Tip: to keep it in place, I taped the end to my counter.
Once you finish braiding it, it should look like this!
Next, place the heart where you would like it on the pillow.
Glue the end of the twine (not the heart!) down onto the mat, and begin going around the heart to make your heart shape on the mat. Glue it down as you go!
Once you have the outline glued onto the mat, you can take your paper heart away. Now all you gotta do is use the twine to fill in the heart.
If you run out of twine, just repeat the braiding step and make another one.
Once it's all filled in, it'll look like this, so cute!
Using my sewing machine, I closed up on side of the pillow (using wo bath mats). Leave a small opening on one end to fill it.
Next, fill your pillow with fiber fill (or a pillow, mine was 12x24").
I ordered it on amazon 2 for $16!
I hand sewed the small opening I left at the bottom so you can’t see it.
It looks so great on my sofa!
Or on this bench. If yo don't sew, you can use a hot glue gun for the same effect. I love it, I hope you give it a try! See more items at Gilbert Marketplace
