Gorgeous Dollar Store Pumpkins

You know those cheesy looking faux pumpkins you always see at the grocery store? Well, I figured out a way to make them absolutely beautiful, and it's way easier than you'd expect! If you love this idea, you can see more easy and affordable DIY ideas on my blog, Love & Renovations!
Start off with a variety of cheap pumpkins from the store. Most of these were only $1 at our local dollar store, but I "splurged" on some larger $5 and $8 dollar pumpkins as well.
Remove all of the stems from the pumpkins. Most of them are hot glued on, so this should be pretty simple. A few of the stems were worth saving, so I set them aside and re-attached them, but I threw most of them away.
Grab your spray paint. The key for this project is to stick to less glossy spray paint colors - think matte, chalked paint, and satin. This will prevent the pumpkins from looking too cheesy or shiny. Simply paint your pumpkins in a variety of neutral fall colors - I went with blues, greens, and shades of white. You can see the details on the colors I chose on the blog post.
After you allow your pumpkins to dry, you can add the good stems back on. For the ones you threw away, go out into the yard and grab a few thick sticks. I used my miter saw to cut down small stems from the sticks, and I hot glued them on (the white pumpkin in this photo has a stem from a stick, the rest were re-used).
Arrange your pumpkins on your fireplace (or wherever you'd like to display them) with a few other accessories and you've got a gorgeous vignette for just a few dollars!
