Boho Candle Holder With Raffia
I recently dug into my tealight box to try to find a way to make my million tealights less utilitarian! This DIY Candle Holder idea is very quick and all you really need is a bundle of raffia.
Find the detailed step-by-step here!
I would suggest you get some natural raffia like this one because these candle holders are all about the texture of braided raffia. Choosing a natural and neutral color will help highlight the texture.
To start, separate a bunch of raffia from the bundle. If you want to make a trio of tealight candle holders at different heights, you’ll need at least 3 to 4 feet (90 to 120cm). Tie the strands together and clamp them down or hang them from a nail on the wall. Braid the raffia until you run out.
Next, take your raffia braid and wrap it around a tealight to measure how much braid you’ll need to create a ring that fits around the candle. Use your glue gun to join the 2 ends of the braid to create a ring.
Stack and glue several rings on top of each other to create taller tealight holders! Insert a tealight at the top of the candle holders and voila!
Stay safe 💚 with or without candle holders, never leave your candles burning unattended!

I agree with the other folks here. Perhaps place your candles in clear glass voltive cups and then slide them in your cute raffia vessels. Love the look!

Have a question about this project?
They look nice but will the Raffia burn? Would it not be better to use battery operated tea lights instead? Also you could paint the Raffia to if you wanted a different colour. I was thinking rainbow ones would look nice to. Thanks for sharing Kay Adelaide Australia
