How I re-purposed an unwanted chandelier as a magnificent and unique cake dish.
When I saw this beautiful chandelier sitting curbside, waiting to hit the dumpster I just had to rescue it!
I was lucky enough to find some matching cake plates at my local thrift store.
The most difficult process is removing the lighting “guts”, cleaning it up; and waiting for the glue to dry. This of course, will be different for every piece. Make sure if you have to dismantle it in any way, you make note of how to put it back together. I learned that step the hard way.
And with some patience and good glue, I was able to transform it into an unusual cupcake/cookie/appetizer serving piece, which will be the envy at any gathering/shower/baptism.
Be careful and wear gloves.
I cleaned and polished all the parts, glued the base to a gold charger that I picked up at the $$ store for stability. Glued the dessert plates to each of the “arms” and there you have it!
A one of a kind cake dish! Enjoy!

Just found this post this morning. Just love this upcycle. Will definitely be on the look out for a chandelier to transform. Great share!
