Dollhouse Credenza
I can’t stop! The other day I spotted these inexpensive little wooden boxes in the check-out aisle of Michaels and I just knew they would make the perfect little midcentury modern credenza for Barbie’s living room. And after you take a look at this easy dollhouse credenza tutorial, I think you’ll agree with me. It’s modern, fresh, and definitely not something you’d spot in one of Mattel’s pink plastic track homes.
These little square wooden boxes have so much potential, but first I removed the knobs. And no worries if it looks a little rugged; I’ll simply turn them around and insert them back in backwards!
Next I painted both drawers white. Once dry, I cut two squares from a piece of geometric vellum craft paper. I applied a light coat of Mod Podge onto the face of the drawer, then adhered the paper and left it to dry.
Once dry, I glued two tiny wooden beads that I had spray painted gold onto the drawers.
I wanted a two-tone look for the credenza – natural wood cabinetry with white doors. So I applied a light coat of stain onto the cabinets and let dry.
Folks, that’s it. That’s literally the end of this tutorial, because it’s so darn easy! Just stain the boxes, paint the drawers, and add craft paper and wooden knobs. I almost hate to give away Barbie’s designer’s secrets, because this dollhouse credenza will definitely take center stage in her living room.
