How To Age Galvanized Metal With A Heat Gun
Hello! Like so many of you, I love the farmhouse look. Galvanized metal is very popular with a farmhouse style, but real galvanized metal can sometimes be expensive. Today I will show you how I used a heat gun and toilet bowl cleaner to age inexpensive or fake metal. Here is all that you need:
Bucket or metal to age
Lysol Gel Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Pour the toilet bowl cleaner gel onto the metal. You can add a heavy amount and let it roll around the bucket.
Use the foam brush to spread out the cleaner.
Use the heat gun to dry the gel onto the metal.
Repeat this process until you are happy with the coverage.
That's it! See how easy that was? Think about how useful this will be on new or inexpensive metal, like those you will find at dollar stores. You can easily age them using this technique. I plan to try this on a few outdoor containers. You can also see a faux galvanized metal technique I made using chipboard here: https://ourcraftymom.com/make-faux-galvanized-metal-chipboard/
I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY. If you try it, I'd love to hear what you think. Also, if you can't find Lysol toilet bowl cleaner, Clorox gel also works.
