these are some photos of how you can use items already in your home to serve as the source for making other items for your home
I had found the big vase (actually it had been a lamp) out for the trash because it had a big chunk out of the back. I liked it and used it for decoration with my other blue and white vases. One day I realized that the little table I had was basically the same shape as the vase, so I copied the design of the vase onto both ends of the little table. Still have the table but the big "vase" is gone now.
This is a separate project. I made lamp shades for our d.r. chandelier by painting the design from my good set of china on flat paper and then shaping it to fit over the shades we already had.
I measured the shades we had, the length of them and the circumference I then used nice heavy watercolor paper and pencilled in the design of the china, using the border of the plates for the upper and lower design on the shade. I think I used water colors and ink I then glued the ends of the paper together and they just slipped over the regular shades we had. Sadly I ruined these shades by not removing them before I did another project on the fixture. But I can have them photocopied to use again!
