Feathers always give me a feeling a being a free-spirit, and who doesn't need that every so often. Once hung, this little DIY banner is giving me jus that feeling when I look at it!

I started with the pre-made banner and chose my ink colors.

Using the feather transfer, I added blotches of color randomly across the leave patterns...

This created the mottled, organic feel that I was going for.

I added the same colors of ink to the transfer on the banner.

I cut the feathers out using my pinking shears. With extra cotton fabric scraps I just randomly added more paint and cut them out too to the size of each feather made with the transfer.

The hand-made ones were placed behind the "real" feather and glued together.

I secured the pairs of feathers to the bottom of the banner and it was done! To "set" the ink, I took parchment paper (above and below the banner) and heat-set it for about 3" per side over medium heat.

You will be able to tell, how much of a beginner I am when I ask, what is the heat source? You mentioned “HEAT,” somewhere throughout, and I felt so very lost.

Id love, to make a nice feathery banner for my, granddaughter, who will be born in February. 🌸🌷🐇🏩💞

Your banner, is as lovely as I have seen!
