How to Mount Flower Baskets Onto Wooden Posts

Do you have a sidewalk you'd like to dress up? We mounted some flower baskets onto wooden posts alongside the sidewalk to my mom's apartment in the backyard. The flowering baskets really give a lot of eye appeal and we get tons of compliments on them. You can read our easy directions on how to make these on our blog.
The flower baskets are mounted onto treated wood 4x4's.
We used U-shaped staples to secure the wire baskets onto the posts.
Holes were cut in the sides of the basket liners so that some of the plants would drape out of the side.
A winning combination of dracaena, begonias, dusty miller, ivy, and vinca has bloomed all summer.
The flowers are at a height that my mother can enjoy them while she's sitting on her front porch.
Summer annuals will be changed out in the fall with pansies that will bloom all winter.
Enjoyed the project?

I’m so glad you found some inspiration. The baskets on posts have been up for a number of years and they have been especially pretty this summer. I have a recent post at https://cottageatthecrossroads where you can see them.
