Welcome! I am so glad that you are here. I always enjoy our time together. With all of the changes that Covid brought upon us, one of the things that changed drastically is that so many of us are now working from home instead of going into the office. It’s so important to have a space to work that is comfortable. Today, I am going to show you How to Add Function, Beauty and Character to your Home Office Come on, I’ll show you.
I had a nice room for my office/guest room. It was a decent size and it had nice windows. But, it was so disorganized that I always felt like I was in a time out while I was in there.
My desk was stacked tall with all of my notes and to-dos. I only went into my office to add to the stacks on my desk. Then, I quickly left the room and shut the door. Obviously, this didn’t work well for me.
The office was a decent size and I really liked the space itself-but, it was severely lacking function, beauty and character.
Here is the inspiration for my office makeover. I love the black armoire-I am going to retro fit it to hold my office supplies and printer. I love the natural and neutral look of the lamp, the gold of the picture frame and the greenery from the plants.

I added wainscotting to add character. I absolutely love it. It was quick and easy. You can see how I made it in the video above.
I moved the desk to the window. I love that I can look out over the garden and apple orchard. It’s a much nicer view than I had before. I added new drapes and peel and stick wallpaper.
The armoire is so functional. I put my printer in it, as well as baskets that hold my office supplies. I labeled each of the baskets so that I know where to find things and put them back.
I really liked how my office was coming along, but it was definitely missing something.
