I am notorious for taking people's "trash" and this hutch top was definitely heading to the dump. Time to work my magic!!!!!!
This thing has smoked mirrors in the back and really bad water damage. It weighed so much we had to take it apart just to get it in and out of the truck.
I removed the doors and mirrors and back. Gave it a coat of primer.
Replaced the back with 1/8 in plywood and added some bun feet. Painted the top and feet gray.
All done. I also painted the doors gray. I sealed the whole thing with clear wax. The hutch has glass shelves for the middle and sides. It is still pretty heavy but nothing like it was.
Final with shelves in.
Suggested materials:
  • Antique white chalk paint, gray chalk paint, spray primer, wax   (The curb)
