Have you ever had that thing in your house that just is just okay? And you want something special and different?
This thing had been my arch enemy. Because it is in the corner, it is hard to place furniture. Not to mention the slanted ceiling. What to do, what to do?
So....off to Lowe's we went for inspiration. And, Eureka! The good looking guy on the ladder is my DHH (Dear Husband Handyman). He framed out the awkward slant with pine 1 x 8 boards.
Next I used General Finishes Milk Paint to paint out the boards to match the fireplace.
Finally, we used the faux copper backsplash tiles to fill in the space. All you have to do is score them with a utility knife and snap them apart. I won't lie...the angles about made him crazy, but in true DHH style, he stuck it out. Then he used liquid nail to glue them on. And done!
We love the glow and how it draws your eye up.
I am already having a great time decorating it! BTW... the huge clock was a find at Kirklands.
Now....I need to head back to Lowe's for that Powder Room....
