when I get containers with flowers or even delivers I really try to find another purpose for them. This is great for pot lucks, picnics and eating outside.
I had received flowers in this wooden box. I didn't want to throw it out since it was made of wood. The size of the container will dictate the size of mason jar needed. I only needed pint sized for this box.
I used chalkboard paint. I had this on hand from another project but if you need to purchase it, it can be a bit pricey ($7-9 pint)
I used hot glue to put the base of the lid on to the bottom of the mason jar
I used the jars that have separated portions of the lid. This makes cleaning up after an event much easier.
After hot gluing the lid to the box, I simply set the mason jar into the space. This makes it really easy to clean up in case there are any spills in the jars or even on the base of the container.
Here is the finished project. I know have a place to put spoons, knives, forks and napkins. You can use it for candles as well. I'm sure I'll find more ways to use it as time goes on.
