I don't have enough cabinets in my kitchen so I hang my pots and pans on a rod with hooks. That worked well for a several years but slowly the rod started to sag. I figured it would break sooner or later and that would be not good! So I decided when I got a bunch of pallets I would make a new pot and pan rack!
This is what I madeicon !
A big pile of wood pallets ready for me to create some needed things around the house and some pretty things too!
That pallet on the top of the stack here will work great for what I have planned.
All I did was take out every other board and removed the nails only from those areas. I then resecured the back brace with a few screws here and there... and finished! Total time 20 minutes, now on to painting!icon

The colors in the kitchen are black, white, silver/ chrome.
You can't tell from the ugly panel wall! The whole house is in remodel/redo mode and I can't do anything to that room right now that would cost money, so I'm stuck with ugly walls for nowicon !
I put some s-hooks on it to see what it looked like and I'm not liking that! Need to try something elseicon
I decided to use coat hooks! I got these at Walmart for $5.97.
I laid the pallet on the floor and arranged the pots and pans then marked where I would attach the hooks. I then screwed them into the pallet. Now all I have to do is hang it up on the wall! You must find the stud in the wall to hang something this heavy, after that screw right into the pallet with 2 1/2 " wood screws, I used four screws, 2 on each side.
YAY, I'm finished!!icon

I also made a lid shelf with a lip! The shelf was already there I just added a piece wood (1"x 1") to the front of the shelf and screwed it in with 2 wood screws.
Simple!! A total of two hours and a new rack is born!! This works great for me!! Love it!!
I'm ready for the next project!!!icon
Just remember if I can do it so can you! Thanks for looking and like always I love comments and/or questions!

Can you please provide a better picture of the "lip" for the pan?

Did you consider attaching a gate latch so it looks like an old gate? Just an idea. I like it. Especially the lid lip. I hate scrounging around in my cabinets looking for lids. I installed a lid rack holder but it doesn't hold all the lids I have under there. Love your idea!
