Create Cool Yard Art From Finials and Table Legs

My sister Spring (yes, her name is really Spring! LOL), gave me two cool, wooden finials that were taken off an old bed. I fell in love with them and knew that someday I would make something really grand with them.
While at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, I found these two great old table legs. Instantly, I thought of the old finials at home that my sister had given me. What great yard art they would make if I used them together! The great thing about the table legs was that they already had screws in the tops so that the finials would just screw right on.
I first sprayed random streaks and spots of black spray paint. No primer needed since I plan to seal them for exterior use.
Brilliant blue spray paint over the top of the black was just the cheery look I was after. I love how bits of black peek through the blue paint to create a sort of antiqued look.

I drilled holes in the bottoms of each finial and screwed the legs on. Super easy!
I then added silver metallic paint to the finial tops to attract beams of sunlight once placed in garden area. A quick coat of exterior varnish over each piece insures they will hold up to the harsh weather.
Now they add a bit of flavor and interest to the garden area. I love them!
