For this Monthly DIY Challenge, we got to play with Modern Masters' new Metal Effects kit which transforms any paintable surface into a beautiful green, blue, or rust patina!
I decided to use my green Metal Effects kit on some simple square tiles to add weight and interest to some cork coasters we use on our patio. (see our patio makeover HERE!)
The steps are very simple, just paint the surface with their primer, then two coats of the corresponding paint, and while that is still wet, you'll spray the pieces with their activator spray. This is what starts the true patina process on the paint and it happens in just a few minutes right before your eyes!
Once they were dry, I put a quick coat of sealant on them then just hot glued the coasters to each one of them.
Now our outdoor coasters are more substantial, more of a statement, and are much prettier than how they were before! The Metal Effects was so much fun to work with and I'm excited to try out their Blue and Rust kits as well! Make sure you visit all the other girls' projects in the blog post too!
