Make Old Floors New & Fabulous With Floor Stencils
Flooring is one of the most expensive changes to make in a home, so unfortunately more often than not, renovating a floor is last on everyone’s to-do list. Don’t be like everybody else! Get your floors in tiptop shape without breaking the bank. Here’s the BIG secret that will save you BIG bucks: Floor Stencils! You can paint Floor Stencils directly onto your floor without stripping or refinishing. The paint and pattern effectively hide wear and tear, plus gives the surface some much needed style! So what’s the catch? The only downside is that there are so many pretty stencil designs to choose from! To help you get started, we’ve gathered some of our recent favorites... and that these DIYer’s absolutely love!
Kimberly Shadoff says, “We didn’t have it in the budget to change out the icky vinyl flooring in our master bath, so I got crafty and stenciled right over that bad boy!! With Chalk Paint® and a beautiful stencil from Royal Design Studio, I’m now in love with these floors!” That’s right ladies and gentlemen! That’s a VINYL floor! But who would have even known? Our Lisboa Tile Stencil makes any floor look ravishing and it’s pretty easy to do too!
Our Circle of Life African Stencil makes it easy to bring tribal design to the kitchen or dining room. Paintress painted this African-inspired design on this concrete floor. We love how the design elements resemble spoons, forks, and plates in an abstract way-and blend beautifully within the pattern. Rather than screaming “kitschy”, this stenciled floor whispers “amazing kitchen”.
MD Haney Designs wanted to save enough money to do a major renovation to her dining room. During that time, the room was in limbo: stripped floor, bare walls, etc. As everyone knows, saving takes time, so until then, paint and Floor Stencils were her best friend! Here’s what she did: She scraped, patched and cleaned her concrete floors. She applied two coats of Old White Chalk Paint® onto the entire floor and used Paris Grey Chalk Paint® with our Chez Ali Moroccan Stencil. Lastly, she used Annie Sloan Lacquer to seal the floor.
For those trendy folks out there (and those that don't know what they are missing!), our Contempo Trellis Stencil makes a bold statement on a floor. Just ask Silk and Sage Design! She wanted to break up the concrete floor with a large graphic pattern. The stenciled floor gives the illusion of depth… and is definitely a conversation piece!
Kirstin made her home instantly Moroccan-inspired by painting her plywood floor with iridescent geometric patterns. She used multiple blue hues and metallic gold to create the look of a worn patina. Our Starry Moroccan Night Stencil looks like the beautiful tiled floors of Morocco!
Creative customer Todd recently finished stenciling his sunroom with our Chez Ali Moroccan Stencil. He used Chateau Grey and Duck Egg Blue Chalk Paint® and Annie Sloan Lacquer to seal it. He is really happy with the way it turned out-and who wouldn’t be?!
These painted floor project make us feel anything but blue! Ashley painted the above concrete floor with our Parlor Lace Stencil and Fran Joubert painted the below concrete patio with our Lisboa Tile Stencil. These fresh floors brighten up each space, lighten up the mood, and look absolutely YUMMY!
Jill Wales says, “I am so thrilled with this stencil! I’ve used others before and the durability and quality of this one is far better. (Thanks Jill, we’re blushing!) Our living room is gorgeous now!” She paired our Picaya Quiver Feather Stencil with a retro orange chair and painted pops of colors within the stencil design to make it even more unique.
