Garden Furniture From Repurposed Wood

William Heistand
by William Heistand
Oak branches, weathered redwood decking, even what is left of the family's Christmas tree find their way into a repurposed furniture experiment, before being sent into a chipper or a fireplace. Rescued oak branches and a redwood slab have new life as a coffee table for the garden patio. Inverted sections of a redwood cedar trunk with flagstone tops become a set of nesting garden end tables that can also embrace a potted plant or two. Redwood cutoffs from a weathered deck have been reassembled as a sunburst to augment a garden bench or stars to hang. It is rustic and fun...and if an idea does not work out, there is always the fireplace.
