4th of July Candlesticks

I'm loving my new stars & stripes candlesticks that I recently painted to add to my 4th of July home décor. I've had these candlesticks for a while, but finally decided to give them a little patriotic makeover. You can find these plain wood candlesticks at Hobby Lobby in the unfinished wood section.

I painted my candlesticks a long time ago, so it was easy to add the stars and stripes. You can start out this project by painting your candlesticks white and letting them dry.

Add star stickers to one of the candlesticks.

Paint your candlestick.

You can add tape to your candlestick to get straight lines or paint them on freehand, like I did.

Peel off the stickers (and tape if you used it) before the paint can fully dry. This will help prevent pulling up the paint.

Aren't these adorable? You can seal with a clear sealant like Mod Podge if you want to protect the paint. This is important, especially if you plan on using these outside.
