Mantel Decor Ideas for Fall

My most favorite place to decorate every season is our fireplace mantel. It is the focal point in the family room so it draws a lot of attention!
This year, I decided to keep it simple and work with natural, light-toned woods and decor. The greenery is always on my mantel so I added a small amount of color with some faux blooms. It's the only color on the mantel (I'm a big fan of gray!!) but I wanted to keep it understated and delicate.
I hand-painted this adorable little "gather" sign that I purchased at Wal-Mart. I considered making my own wood plank board, but when I saw this pre-made one, I couldn't resist! It made the project so much simpler and for $10, I thought it wasn't worth the extra effort to make my own.
I just love the sign and think it really adds to the feeling of this season! With Thanksgiving around the corner, I'm looking forward to gathering with friends and family by my fireplace enjoying their company and some good food!
Who are you gathering with this season?!!
