Pumpkin Garland
With every changing season, I like to add a few pieces of seasonal décor to my home. One of the places that I always decorate, is this shelf in my front entry way. Since we never use the hooks for coats, its the perfect place to hang a sweet garland.
I always like to DIY my garlands, as I really enjoy the process as well as to keep things budget friendly (I couldn't believe some of the prices I was seeing for premade garlands).
This year I decided to make a little pumpkin garland and I am obsessed with how it turned out. Luckily I already had all of the materials on hand, and have used this same technique several times for other projects.

To make the little pumpkins I began by cutting out the shape of a pumpkin onto the back of a cereal box. You could also use cardboard or heavy card stock for this.
Tape the tail end of a ball of yarn in the color of your choice to the middle of the pumpkin. Wrap the yarn around the cardboard multiple times until you can no longer see any of the cardboard peeking out. Cut off the remaining yarn and secure it with a knot on the backside of the pumpkin.
Half way through wrapping the orange pumpkins I ran out of the orange yarn. I decided to use some cream colored yarn to wrap the rest of the pumpkins and in the end this turned out to be a happy accident as I love the two alternating colors together.
To finish off the pumpkins I hot glued on a faux leaf that I cut off of an old garland, and a small cardboard stem.
I strung the pumpkins onto a piece of the cream colored yarn and hung them up on this little ledge. After a little more styling I think they add the perfect subtle fall touch to our entry!
These turned out so cute, and might just be one of my favorite garlands I have made yet!
