Diy Faux Chevron Tree Collar
I was looking for something different for under my tree this year. I love woods and whites together so I knew I wanted it to be wood or in this case wood look. Due to my hubby being ill I didn't have anyone to cut out some wood for me so I did the next best thing, I faked it with a diy. I used a project board fro the dollar store. I cut that down to the size I needed for it to fit under the tree but still hide the faux trunk. Then I decided I wanted to t do a scalloped top, I used a bowl to make the pattern. I cut that out using my exacto knife. I found this stick on wall pieces at the dollar store and knew just what I could use them for. They just peel and stick onto the board. After that was done I cut the pieces that needed to be scalloped down to about one inch from the scalloped edge. I then folded the paper over the scallops it worked very well. That was it and it was done. Being that it is a project board it already curved around the tree so it worked perfectly. My packages will be wrapped in white this year so this collar will make them really stand out.
It looks like a real chevron collar.
Here is my project board.
After I cut it down.
Using a small bowl for a pattern.
That worked perfectly.
After it is all cut out.
Here are the sheets of wallpaper. I used four sheets.
After putting the paper on.
After it is cut and folded over.
Looks so cute.
