Laundry Room Cleaned Up!

6 Materials
We recently helped a friend redo her laundry room. It was in serious need of a redo!
The shelves were too far back to really access, so they became a dumping ground for lots of stuff!
We added a new cabinet, and new beadboard.
We took the washer and dryer off the pedestals that came with them, as they were just too high. We made new pedestals with 2x6's and subfloor. We added moulding along the front and attached it with Velcro. She added new flooring which looks so much better than the old linoleum!
And it's done! (Her washer died halfway through the project, so that's why the new one looks so different than the dryer). We added a shelf made from a plain door. It's a perfect place to fold clothes. I think it turned out so cute!
Shelves on the side create a pretty place for some accessories.
Some laundry-themed fillings for canning jars turned out really cute.

You said the original shelves were too far back to access. The new cabinet and shelf don't seem any closer. Is this any easier to reach? Maybe because of the new height of the washer units?

I'm curious as to why a new washer needed to be purchased. Couldn't the old one be repaired?

Looks Awesome 🎉 We just bought a cute little house that is very outdated. Our laundry room will be under going a diy remodel as well and I love the old door as a folding table, because I found one in the garage 😉, but can't go over my washer because mine is a top loader. So many diy projects to do with this little house. Thanks for the ideas!!!
