I picked up a double drop leave table, I think they were called Butterfly tables? I got it at Goodwill and it needed lots of love. It was worn, needed gluing and most of all was dark and dreary...but it had such a cute personality, I just had to stain it!
I sanded it almost totally down, but just couldn't bring myself to sand out all the dark in the sculptured legs. Okay I admit I don't like sanding and this thing took me a long time! By the time I got to the legs, I was liking the aged dark creases.
I coated it with Tung Oil Finish and let it sit for almost a week. Then sealed with GF High Performance Top Coat in Satin finish.
Enjoyed the project?

Laryl Hancock on Mar 18, 2016@Hannah V Thank you.. I was going for something soft and beachy. I live in the desert and love the ocean, hehe. It was a fun project, took me a long time to get the old finish off but it was so worth it!

Laryl Hancock on Mar 28, 2016@Geraldine Green Thank you very much! I tried googling the table and found nothing. It was made by Hollycraft in Los Angeles, CA. Anyway, I'm enjoying it and think I'll keep it!

Did you tape off the edges you didn't want the color on? I've never used Unicorn Spit and just started researching. This piece is beautifully subtle, I think the colors would be great on our new farmhouse style dining room table.
