One of the easier rainy day projects I have undertaken. It was also cheap! Can't wait to test our new RV ottoman.
Gather materials (see complete list at bottom of post). I bought the Hard Cloth and fabric specifically for this project. Everything else I had on hand.
Next I took off the plastic corner thingies (I'm pretty sure that is an official label.). Then I took out the sawzall and cut the top of the four 1 X 1s off.
Wash with soap and water. Fill screw holes with the wood filler. Give it a coat of the Kiltz spray primer then two coats of the Black Canyon spray paint.
Cut the Hard Cloth with wire snippers and staple to the four 1x1s.

Cover the top board with the batting and fabric. Turn over and staple. Pull fabric tight and continue to staple.

The top just rests right on top of the crate.
Place in front of RV couch and stand back to admire.

I like that this will serve two purposes: comfort and storage. I think this will be perfect for games, cards, and books. During travel, I can just roll it under the table.

The Olympic Nest includes our first RV tale and full tutorial.

Love it. Share it.
