Restoration of Turn of the Century Industrial Cart Into a Coffee Table
by
Vintage Headboards
(IC: professional)
Restoration work completed on this turn of the century industrial cart transformed into a coffee table.
Restoration Process: Remove and discard the top, disassemble the entire cart, strip the hardware down to bare metal, prime and paint glossy black, drill out all hardware to accommodate new lag screw size.
Remove all metal from the main 2" x 6" oak base and run all four pieces through a thickness planer.
Reassemble the newly painted hardware to the oak base boards. Cut 1" x 12" pieces of solid oak as the top - sand, stain and poly the oak.
All done!
UPDATE: Additional pics added that came from our Customer after it made it to its new home.

Vintage Headboards on Aug 04, 2013Thank you Kate. My best suggestion is never cut corners because it always shows. When doing work for Customers always do it better than you would for yourself and you'll be ahead of most everyone else. I have one ready if you want it - make me a reasonable offer and its all yours! http://vintageheadboards.storenvy.com/products/1939657-restored-1903-industrial-cart-into-coffee-table
