Modern Turquoise & White Striped Bench

2 Materials
Turn any plain bench or coffee table into a modern statement piece with paint and painter's tape.

Begin by priming then painting the entire piece of furniture. This particular bench was painted with two coats of white semi-gloss, but you can choose any color you'd like for the base color. Allow the paint to dry for at least 24 hours.

Add painter's tape to tape off the areas you'd like to paint in a contrasting color. The lime green and dark blue lines you see in the photo are the painter's tape. Ensure that the tape is adhered to the wood by rubbing it down with a plastic spatula, ruler, or credit card.

The first coat of blue paint you add should be very light so it doesn't bleed under the tape. Let dry, then add additional two or three coats of blue paint. Carefully remove the painter's tape to reveal your modern design.
