Recently I discovered that succulent flowers are perennials. My mother-in-law made the cutest succulent garden in her birdbath last year, and it came back with abundance this year. After seeing that, I decided to make my own succulent container garden.
I found this copper grill basket in my shed one day that my husband had never used, so I used it as my container.
To keep the potting soil from slipping through the holes, I layer inside of the basket with rocks. I used large rocks for the bottom layer and smaller rocks to fill in any gaps.
I added the potting soil and succulents next. I used a variety of different succulents that I found at Home Depot, and filled in the rest with Sedum.
Lastly, I tied rope to the handles to make it a hanging planter. I hung it on a shepherd's hook in my back yard.
I have it in a full sun area, and it's holding up nicely. Too see more details, visit the link below.
