If you love Restoration Hardware looks as much as me but hate the pricing, check out my RH makeover on a wood dining table, here are some of the many photos I have of my progress it took to get to the end result, my blog listed below is super detailed if you want to undertake this look
this is my RH look end result but it too allot to get there.. many steps and stages but I love the end result
here is what the table looked like originally, someone spilt an unknown substance that ruined the finish on this 4 year old talbe
I tried sanding but resorted to stripping off the finish with a chemical stripper and sanded thru various grits to the wood
and then I used 3 colors of grey (one not shown as added after the picture) and got started
it went thru layers of greys followed by an antiquing tough coat then black glaze was added to give even more dimension.. yes I found my fingers the best tool to apply it in the end
and after 6 coats of tough coat finish, here is my version
what do you think? is it RH looking to you?
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Fusion mineral paint - ash & little lamb
- Fusion antiquing and clear tough coat
- APC black glaze
- FAT paint - greysful
