Repurposed Cabinets Used to Make a Workbench
by
Marion Tinney
(IC: homeowner)
I purchased two base cabinets from Restore, a place that recycles building materials and the money is used for Habitat for Humanity. I put them together in my basement, covered them with a piece of plywood, and added a light and electrical strip. A great workbench.

Jeanette S on Nov 09, 2013I have these same old cabinets that I absolutely love because they are Formica fronts and never get dingy or dirty...just wipe off with damp cloth! Years ago instead of changing them out, I matched the white by using white paint and adding a drop or two of tint to get the right tone of white to paint out the wood. I then added brass and porcelain knobs. Yes, this was in the era of everything had to be brass! I am too old now to redo everything again so they will stay the way they are! I have been in this house 43 years and am sick of redos! HA! Retired and just relaxing and gonna let my kids or new owner worry about the next upgrade!
