Bright pumpkins are a cheery way to welcome the fall season and decorate for Halloween and Thanksgiving. So grab some recycled glassware, candles, and autumn trimmings and make some festive candle holders to celebrate the new season! These candle holders can be embellished in a number of ways and using a variety of materials and decorations. You can dress them up to be fancy for a special dinner party, or leave them rustic to match your fall decor!
I made these candle holders for less than $5 each using foam pumpkins, but you can follow the same steps for this project and use real pumpkins for your candle holders instead.

I recycled some glass jars and used some leftover floral bits to decorate my candle holders. I also used some handmade candles my sister gave me, which I don't plan to light, but you can use LED lights too.

You can find all the materials and the full direction for these candle holders on my blog.
The first step to make these fall candle holders is to remove the stem from your pumpkin (real or foam) and make the top as flat as possible. You can usually pull gently on the stem of an artificial pumpkin to remove it. Next, put your glass jar or cup on the top of your pumpkin and center it. Then use a marking pen to trace around the bottom of your jar or cup.
Cut around your markings to remove the top of your pumpkin. You can find the full directions for doing this on my blog link at the bottom of this post. Now use a spoon or other tool to scrap out the inside of your pumpkin just enough to fit a glass jar or cup into your pumpkin.
I decorated my finished candle holders with paint and a fall garland ring, but you could use a variety of materials to embellish your candle holders. You can paint a face on it, glue on some artificial leaves and flowers, add some ribbon and a bow, or leave it plain.
I also have directions for making this colorful stacked pumpkin topiary  on my blog.
