Dress up a Lantern for Christmas!

Lanterns are such a popular home decor item and just seem perfect for dressing up for Christmas! I decided to take my coastal lantern from everyday to holiday!
You will need to find some way to attach a base for your decorations to your lantern. For mine, I had this decorative top and fed a chenille stem through the holes.
Here is how my stem looks before I attach it to a piece of styrofoam to build my arrangement in.
I used two paper coated wires pulled through a block of foam to make two circles of wire in which to attach this to my lantern. This will be the base for my arrangement. For more details on this step, check out my website at:
Use the chenille stem to attach the piece of styrofoam to the top of the lantern.
I want my arrangement to go from high on the left and down low on the right, so I went to work placing faux Christmas greens into the foam.
I continued to build my arrangement within the template I had built for myself with the longer pieces of greenery.
Time to add a big red velvet bow, then I filled in with greenery all around the bow.
I tucked some red and gold Christmas ornaments throughout my arrangement, and it is ready to display!
My lantern will be all ready to display anywhere in my home, like right here at my hearth.
