It's that time of year to create some new Christmas decorations.
And these cute Christmas Birds are just the sweetest.
The children will love to help make them to decorate your Christmas home decor.

To Make The Cute Christmas Birds You'll need:
sturdy paper or card to make two bird shapes.
A bird template.
Two paper clips for each birds feet.
A quick drying craft glue.

First you will need to print a bird template and cut it out.
I just used this free one that I found on Pinterest.
You can choose any bird shape you like.
I printed this in a 4x6 size.

Use the template to draw an outline on paper of your choice.
Use a double layer with the pattern facing each other.
Draw around the template and then cut the double papers.
Because these are for the Christmas decor,
I have used Christmas themed paper.

Glue the two side together using a big dollop of glue at the bottom of the birds tummy to hold the paper clips.
Put together but leave an opening at tummy bottom of bird.

Bend two paper clips per bird for the feet as shown in the photograph.
Insert paperclips under tummy of bird between the two layers of the bird template that has been glued.
Add more glue if needed and press paper together.
Manipulate paper clips so the bird stands by itself.

Cute Christmas birds to decorate around the tree, the mantel, sideboard, table or bookcase.
(These look super cute for Spring too using spring floral themed papers.)

Try looking for some velour paper to get a slight texture. Short pile yellow acrylic "fur" would come close to baby chicks; I have just the cookie cutter to trace. Orange paper clips for the feet and little google eyes or a dab of plack fabric paint!
