Up the WOW factor at home this Christmas and make this simple yet stunning light and bauble filled star.
You won't believe how easy it was to do and the best thing about it - you don't need any special tools either. It's one of those no-stress DIY Christmas decorating projects that can be made in an afternoon. All you need is:
- Two large sheets of sturdy cardboard
- Masking tape, ruler and scissors or a craft knife
- Battery operated string lights
- Christmas baubles
- Spray paint and glue
While the paint dries we made a huge star shaped cardboard box for all those baubles. The cardboard needs to be sturdy so the thicker the better. D raw a large five point star. As long as the tips of the star are big enough to hold your smallest bauble you'r good to go.
Measure the sides of each of the points of the star and cut 8 cm wide strips to fit. That’s about 3 1/8 inches. Use some masking tape to attach the sides to the star to form a box.
Spray or paint the star to hide the masking tape and let one of your fur babies give it a test drive.
Poke a few holes in the bottom of the star and add the string lights. Then glue the baubles inside the star shaped box. That's it.
Hang the bauble filled star on the wall or let it take center stage on your mantel. And it looks so beautiful at night when we switch the lights on. I'd love to know what you think?

Loved Calico Cat💗💗💗💗. What’s her name? She looks like a good helper🐾🐾🐾
Where are the lights placed?
How many colors of spray paint did you use & what are the names of the colors? You've shown 2 but it looks like it could be 3 or 4. And it maybe the lighting.
Thanks so much! We have a group of ladies in our church and we meet up here at our home called "Let's Get Creative!" We laugh and eat & have a great time doing crafts or cakes or whatever together.
Blessings!
