I recently bought a console table from kijiji for only $ 15, it had normal wood dark cherry wood stain with lot of scratches and dents, I needed a little glamour .....so I decided to paint it in champagne gold. Take a look at how I transformed this piece from drab to fab!

First step is to fully clean the wood with soap and water with vinegar. Once it is totally clean and dry, use wood filler to fill the holes and scratches.

Then I made my home made chalk paint from left over paint in a beige colour (sorry forget to take pic of it). I painted a layer of the chalk paint as my base.
Next step is to paint it with the metallic champagne gold.

It looked like it was still missing something so I glazed it with Rust-Oleum Aged glaze to give it a more layered look. Pretty!
I lined the drawer with wall paper to give it a more finished look
Although you can stop it here, I took it a step further and used minwax wipe on poly for extra protection.
Finally finish and looking gorgeous, don't you think so.......happy diying
