Kelley, guess what? I did it, and I am more than chuffed. I ended up buying a beautiful little 'silver' tray (oval) in Dollar Store and put everything on that. First I cut a hole in the hard foam and stuck the foam onto the tray with a glue gun. Then I put the green tapered candle into the hole and glued it in. My arrangement has a beautiful big sunflower in the center, three pine cones and many assorted autumn leaves. The whole thing is orange and browns. Oh, I was so over-joyed, never thought I could do something like that and wanted to keep it myself. But, my friend absiolutely loves it so I am glad I gave it to her. Wish you could see it, but I have no means of taking and posting photos, I am afraid. The only downfall is that it cost me a lot of money to make. About $25 I think. Do you know anywhere to get supplies cheaper? But, Kelley, thanks so much for inspiring me to do this and getting me started on crafts.
Last week I totally surprised myself by finishing painting my kitchen cabinets on my own. It was a long job, and exhausting, but it s so surprising what you can do when you put your mind to it.
Good luck with your crafts, and keep posting. Perhaps you can find a way to send me some instructions personally because I might miss it on Hometalk. I would like to make something else.
