Organizing With Jars

I love to be organized, but don't like spending a lot on things to obtain it. Therefore, I like to recycle and reuse items in different ways than their original intention. I needed some storage to contain some of my bulkier scrapbook embellishments, so I decided to use jars.
I took a bunch of jars I had saved and cleaned the labels and glue off of them. I had read many tips on how to do this easily but, I can tell you when I used olive oil the glue slid right off. Wish I had know this some years ago it would have saved many a frustrating moment. Anyway, I painted all the lids with DIY chalk paint - you could spray them but I was doing some other projects and just did them this way. Then I proceeded to embellish them with bits of burlap, ribbon, lace, twine, tags, buttons whatever I thought would look nice and fit in with my decor.
Here are some of them sitting on my desk so I can see what I have on hand. Being a very visual person I need things right in sight or I tend to forget I even have them.
I like how they add to the vintage feel of this area and that they are right there where I won't forget to use them. If you want see more you can go to the link listed below.
