Kitchen Stool Update
Everyone has a little stool in their kitchen to reach those out of the way things right? And they make the perfect pop of color accessory. But like accessories they need a change up after about 8 years.
When we moved into our new home just over 7 years ago I gave my stained pine country stool a fun POP of color. It was painted a bright turquoise. This photo shows it more blue but it really was bright and fun. But with everyday use it was needed a refresh.
I decided to totally refresh and revamp. I power sanded it down to the bare pine. The inside did not get quite to the wood but mostly. To rehydrate the wood i added a coat of Homestead house natural stain oil finish.
Then using Annie Sloan Florence, a teal green color, I painted it on in a worn weathered look. On the inside I dry brushed a white over the old partially sanded turquoise then the Florence for a layered effect.
To seal it all I applied Annie Sloan clear wax to all surfaces then to give a bit more age and dimension I hand rubbed Fusion Mineral Paint ageing wax. I totally love it ... well for a few more years anyway ;)
