Diy Corbel Sconce
This tiny project actually took a lot of steps to make it, but its a quick fix for that dark corner in your room. And you can't go wrong with a pretty light fixture.
For supplies you will need:
2x1 wood
Paint brush for staining
Stain
Sand paper
Light bulb to your liking
Pendant light cage
Hanging light kit
Leveler
Saw or electric handsaw
Wood glue
Wood nails 8-1 1/4 in
First thing is cut your 3 pieces below are the dimensions we used.
Make sure to cut the 11.5 in at an angle
Once you cut all your pieces align them together before moving on to make sure your cuts are correct.
Then you will need to make your holes for the cord to go through
They should look like this when your done making your holes and indents.
Now ours weren't perfect so I sanded everything down to make it look pretty
Once you sand your wood, you can either leave it the natural color or stain it
I used summer oak, and I only did one coat because I didn't want it to dark.
Now let's put this together.
First run your cord through, this part is crucial. If you don't run the cord through you have to start over.
Then you can start to attach your pieces, make sure to drill small holes before adding the screws to avoid cracking the wood.
And it should look like this when your done
Always double check and make sure everything is straight before attaching it to the wall
To hand it we just did one hole on top, and another on the bottom
And your all done 😊

I made something very similar using a shelf bracket from IKEA! It's the same design as your wood bracket, and would save a lot of time!
