Rustic Pine Cone Ornaments

Christmas is my favorite holiday, hands down. The food, the decorations, the music all combine to make it such a magical time of year. Believe it or not, it is also a busy time at our farm. We sell Christmas trees, grow our own poinsettias and make/decorate wreaths of all sizes. Despite the hectic hustle and bustle of the season, I still love it!
I love the crafty side of this wonderful holiday too. Each year, I try to create at least one handmade ornament that will hold a special place on our Christmas tree. I also love to make a few extra to give away or attach to the outside of the wrapped Christmas packages. This year, I am creating these easy to make Rustic Pinecone Ornaments. This ornament project is super easy and perfect for kids and adults to make.
To begin, glue a large bead to the top of the pinecone. Then, thread a piece of ribbon (non-wire) about 8″ in length, through the bead. Tie in a knot. This is how it will hang from the tree.
Next, make a nice bow with the wire-edged holiday ribbon and glue to the pinecone. Now, you need to snip apart the berry pick and glue the berries around the bow and top of the ornament. I used two contrasting types of picks. I continued gluing until the ornament will filled out.
Let’s face it, time is at a premium during the Christmas season. This craft is quick and easy. Quick and easy is good, right?! What are some of your holiday traditions? Do you ever make your own ornaments to hang on your tree or gift to others? This Rustic Pinecone Ornament will look beautiful hanging on my tree this year.
