Henredon White Lacquered Campaign Dresser Makeover

4 Days
This vintage dresser came into my workshop with a dated look and left with a timeless, lacquered white finish (I know, I know - some will feel that wood was as timeless as it gets). :)
Here's a peek at the "after" paired with some bold colored accessories.
And here's where we started: 6 Drawer Campaign Style Dresser with recessed brass pulls.
Everything was thoroughly sanded with an electric palm sander to prepare the surface for primer and paint. Check out my blog for a thorough "How I Paint Furniture" post.
It was just before Christmas and very cold outside, so I had to bring the project indoors, after priming, to apply 6 coats of General Finishes "Snow White" paint and 3 coats of poly. A combination of rolling/brushing and foam brushing was used (sanding in between) for a ultra-smooth finish.
No campaign dresser project is complete without shining up the hardware to a bright gold finish! I have LOTS of tips on my blog for polishing hardware and finding replacement hardware for campaign furniture.
This year, I've been working on some new photography skills and invested in professional software. This dresser was my first subject.
Loving the results - paired with the beautiful Turkish-Persian rug I spent weeks searching for!

Beautiful! Sounds like a lot of work, but the results were worth it.

Hi - I just purchased a dresser that may be the same brand at a thrift store (it has the exact same drawer pulls but has nine drawers). Five of the drawer pulls are missing. Do you know where I could find replacements?
