Hi, I am new to hometalk as far as posting something here but thought I would try it. The date on the photos is incorrect as I can't seem to get it off of my camera, no matter how hard I try. Just wanted to get some opinions on this. Thanks for listening! : )
OOPS forgot to mention that the chair in the background is just covered with a tablecloth so that it would blend in for Christmas. I am actually going to refinish those eventually.

I actually have had the chairs for years and they went with another set, a round glass top table, that I got rid of last summer. We just purchased our home 1 1/2 years ago and I want to redo everything! This one one of the first to be done. The chairs were a reddish/brown and I wanted them dark. First thing was sanding them down which took a bit of time. After that, I refinished them with General Finishes Java Gel stain in Espresso. Then a coat of clear was to finish them off. I still need to buff them with the electric buffer as I want a clearer finish.
I searched and searched for something to redo the cushions with and ended up using some curtains that I found at Big Lots. White with a print. Not sure that I will keep that as the cushions as I just feel it is too much with the curtains being similar.
The table was found on craigslist, I think I paid $70.00 for it. Anyway I liked the style but actually intended to put a new top on it. I wanted a farmhouse style. After the legs were refinished to match the chairs, the top was sanded down by hubby and he just polyed over it. I loved it so much that I decided to keep it as is. I am very happy with the way it turned out!
Enjoyed the project?

Marion Nesbitt on Jan 10, 2015Very nice. Love dark traditional furniture. Glad you stained instead of slapping on some chalk paint or such. Like the seat covering, too.
