Oh how I love these Christmas Trees I've made over the years with pine cones. Make some of your own.

These trees are made from pine cone bracts carefully arranged around a Christmas tree form.

I've used the styrofoam forms, paper mache forms and then learned to make my own cones with posterboard. Making my own forms give me a lot more size flexability. It also saves me a bit of money.

For many years I enjoyed these trees in their natural state. Then I began experimenting with painting them.....and glittering them. Now I've done them in many colors and states of glitteriness. I made that word up!

Totally Outstanding!!!!! I appreciate you sharing these projects very much. I usually save 4 to 5 bushels of pine cones every winter from my yard but never had anything in mind to do with them. I am going to share your blog with our local garden club for a group project this fall so they can use some of them up.
