Headboard Bench

So there is a beautiful head/foot board bench that is on the Hometalk homepage that I fell in LOVE with. It was bright, happy colors and I was inspired. I had gotten this plastic headboard from a friend who wanted it out of her garage and it sat in my barn for over a year or more but now I knew it would be perfect for this project!
The headboard is the entire back (including the post on either side but the panels were spread out more. There was like 6 inches or so between each panel. We knew that we didn't want it to be that long so we removed the plastic panels from the frame, cut the frame down then slid it all in so there was no space in between them. The seat is reclaimed wood from a construction dumpster and the front legs were from another desk we took apart for a previous project.
Once we had it cut down and all the seat together, we primed the whole thing. At this point I had no idea what colors I was going to use but I knew that I wanted to use several. Since the panels were plastic I figured that spray paint was the best way to go for them. In going through my many, many spray paint colors, I decided on red. Don't know why but that is what called to me.
So then it was just a matter of picking the other colors and deciding where to put them. I had originally painted the front face plate blue with the rest of the seat but then just having the red panels didn't make sense. It needed more red, so I taped it all up and painted the front face plat and viola...PERFECT!!! Or at least we think so. I is not going to be for everyone but that is why I like it so much. It is one of a kind! Thanks for looking.

Love the constructive job you did! I think I would've used a color other than white. The white just doesn't do it justice?

@Donncha2000 ~ the white is only the primer. The final colors are red, yellow and blue. Maybe the blue looks white in the pics.
