Guest Bathroom Makeover On A Budget

Today I'm sharing with you all our mini guest bathroom makeover. When we moved into the house, we didn't want to mess with the bathroom just yet. It was in alright condition, so I threw some decor in there and called it good. After about a year of living there, I decided that I could make some serious changes in that bathroom on slim budget.
Here is what we were working with when we moved into the house. UGLY pinecone wallpaper, and some lime green walls. Need I say more?
I steamed all of the wallpaper from the walls, removed that ugly and bulky medecine cabinet, painted the vanity and swapped knobs, added a new faucet, removed the light fixture and painted the walls.
Here is "during" the process. We decided to shiplap this wall for two reasons. When we tore down the medicine cabinet, there was a 1 inch gap where the previous owner just decided to stop drywalling. I also had already planned on adding shiplap anyways for a feature wall, so it worked out perfectly. For our shiplap, we used 1" x 6" boards, but most people just use plywood ripped down. It's really based on your preference.
And for the after! We built some plumbing pipe shelves above the toilet to make this space more functional but also to add a pop of decor. We also used the plumbing pipe to add a more rustic toilet paper holder.
We took after pictures before installing our new faucet, but can you imagine how nice this space is now with the new faucet?! I also added this mirror in place of the medicine cabinet. It was an old Hobby Lobby mirror I had waiting to be thrown away. One layer of chalk paint and wa-la, a brand new mirror!
This is the new light fixture I picked out from Lowes. It was only $60 and exactly what I was looking for, for that farmhouse charm. I love this, it's so cute! Question on the chalk paint- is it suitable for a bathroom where there's high humidity? I have a mirror but I don't like the color of the frame. I was thinking about painting it because I'm redoing my bathroom. Yours turned out so nicely that I think I'm definitely going to paint it, but I'm just not sure with what

What a beautiful transformation!! Did you consider white shiplap instead of opting for the darker stain? I am researching ideas on remodeling our small guest bathroom and was just curious if you had considered it and if so was there a specific reason you opted not to.

    Beautiful room!!!

I would have put the focal point wall on the wall by shower I would have painted the sink wall, and I would quickly remove the towels by the toilet and put them by the shower. I wish you would have shown shower area. When you flush the toilet all these things fly into area and it's just gross plus if your using the toilet you don't have to have towels there. By the shower they would be great. I love the wood you choose it's very beautiful. I really don't want you to be offended I'm just stating how I would have done it. But it's your house and it certainly looks better than before. God bless you for having to remove all that wall paper.
