This beauty was a really fun makeover to do. The dresser came from one of our curb shopping trips! It always amazes me what people leave on the curb.
First I started by wiping down the dresser with my vinegar and water mix. I then Bullseye did with my zinsser 1 2 3 Bullseye primer. I do this with most of my projects to ceiling any smell and also give it a good base for the paint to adhere to. It also dries very quickly which makes it easier to move on with the projects.
Are then used my Minwax grey stain and a chippy brush to lightly go over the dresser. After I let that dry I went back over it with the white Bullseye to give it that worn look.
I then decided to spray all the knobs with a hammered metal spray paint by Rust-Oleum to update them and I took the top knobs and added Crystal knobs for an elegant feel mixed with The Rustic look. This came out absolutely stunning and went to a home where actually an iguana lives on top of happily in it's tank!!!
Almost all of my projects especially the bigger ones are always sealed with water-based polycrylic. It provides beautiful shine and protection and does not yellow.
